The International Bar Association

January 2005 saw the creation of a Mediation Committee within the International Bar Association. The establishment of this new committee was recognition, if recognition was needed, of the growing importance of mediation in dispute resolution across the international spectrum. Jon Lang was appointed to the committee at its inception and asked to assume responsibility for publications, including the creation and editing of a newsletter. The links below take you to the Newsletters put together by Jon during 2005 and 2006 (and some of those published subsequently).

Anyone wishing to submit articles for publication in the Mediation Newsletter should now contact either Ana Reyes ( AReyes@wc.com ) or Anna Maxwell ( Anna.Maxwell@bondpearce.com ) who are currently responsible for the Newsletter.

In January 2007, Jon was appointed Vice Chair of the Mediation Committee and in January 2009, was appointed Chair, a position he held until the end of 2010.

Should anyone be interested in becoming involved with the work of the IBA’s Mediation Committee, they should feel free to contact Jon or of course the new Chair, Babak Barin (Babak.Barin@bcf.ca).
